Calling all seniors! It’s time to get started on college planning – which includes the college admission process. It is important to apply early in the school year so you don’t miss out on scholarship opportunities. Now, I bet you’re wondering where you can go to get help with your college applications. Have no fear, just participate in this year’s Apply2College campaign sponsored by EducationQuest! The event is from the end of September through October, and high schools pick a day (or multiple days) to conduct an event for their students. During the campaign, you will have an opportunity to apply to colleges with help from your school counselors and perhaps local college representatives as well.
Here are some tips to help you along your journey:
Narrow your college choices to 3-4 so you can compare award letters from different schools. Visit with college representatives at the Omaha College Fair, Educational Planning Programs, during campus visits, and when they visit your high school. The more you can talk to representatives, the more chances you have to get all your questions answered.
Contact your top colleges and ask about deadlines to apply for admission and college-based scholarships to maximize your efforts to receive scholarship dollars. Most deadlines will happen in December or January!
Use these free EducationQuest resources to help you with the college selection process:

Of course, we enjoy student involvement, so share Apply2College photos on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram during your school’s college application event using #Apply2CollegeNE. And while you’re there, click that follow option as well. Our social media accounts keep you updated with college planning and financial aid tips. Also, there could be scholarship chances along the way.
