What to expect after you submit the FAFSA
Expect your Student Aid Report. This acknowledges that your form was processed, and can be used to make corrections to your FAFSA.
Your college may request tax returns or other documents to verify your FAFSA information. Send the documents to the college financial aid office.
Your college will send a financial aid award notification detailing the assistance they're offering which may include a combination of grants, work-study, loans and scholarships. Sign and return the award to the college.
If you need a student loan, contact your college financial aid office. They will explain the loan application process and make sure you understand the loan terms.
