As a high school guidance counselor, you understand that campus visits are not only a vital step in the college selection process, but can open to door to possibilities for students who may not think college is an option.

Governor Heineman also understands the importance of campus visits – and the role they can play in increasing the state’s college-going rate. That is why he is promoting campus visits as part of an initiative developed by EducationQuest Foundation and the Nebraska P-16 Initiative called Go.Visit.College!.

Through Go.Visit.College!, Nebraska high schools and postsecondary institutions are encouraged to work together to coordinate group campus visits during the academic year. While all students are encouraged to participate, please consider your first-generation students who might not otherwise visit a campus.

Here are some resources to help with this effort:

Campus Contact List provides the names of admissions personnel at Nebraska postsecondary institutions you should contact to coordinate campus visits. They are aware of Go.Visit.College! and will help make the coordination as easy and beneficial as possible.

Go.Visit.College! brochure outlines college selection and campus visit tips for students and parents.

Campus Visit Tips provides activities you can coordinate to make campus visits meaningful for your students.

Campus Visit Questions for students and parents.

As you coordinate group campus visits, please provide us with a few details such as the date you conducted the visit, the number of students who participated, and the college(s) you visited. You may email the information to info@educationquest.org.

If you have questions about Go.Visit.College!, contact Daphne Hall, EducationQuest Vice President of College Access & Planning Programs at 800.303.3745, ext. 6625 or daphneh@educationquest.org.
