EducationQuest Receives Statewide College Access Designation
(LINCOLN Neb. October 30, 2006) – The National College Access Network (NCAN) - an organization of college access providers that serve thousands of low-income students across the country - has designated Lincoln-based EducationQuest Foundation as a "statewide network for college access."
According to NCAN Executive Director Christina Milano, EducationQuest received this designation because they are a statewide organization that coordinates the creation of new college access programs and supports the sustainability of existing programs throughout Nebraska.
"EducationQuest is an exemplary resource in Nebraska for those needing services, materials or information related to college access," she said.
"With a mission to improve access to higher education in Nebraska, we're continually assessing college access needs in our state and developing and adapting programs and services to help meet those needs," added EducationQuest President Liz Fieselman.
As an example, Fieselman cited EducationQuest's newly developed College Access Grants Program through which 13 Nebraska high schools will share $175,000 annually over the next four years to help increase the number of students who go to college. EducationQuest also provides free college planning services, funds need-based scholarship programs, and provides outreach services for statewide community agencies.
