EducationQuest Grant Serves At-Risk Youth

Central Plains Center for Services Receives $18,500

(LINCOLN Neb. September 15, 2004) – EducationQuest Foundation has awarded $18,500 to Central Plains Center for Services in Broken Bow to support Success through Education - a program that helps at-risk youth in Custer, Loup and Sherman counties pursue higher education.

Success through Education serves youth between the ages of 17 to 21 considered at-risk due to factors such as poverty, lack of parental involvement, minimal career and education guidance, and lack of self-confidence in their educational ability. The program helps participants explore career interests, set educational goals and implement steps to further access to higher education.

EducationQuest is a nonprofit organization with a mission to increase access to higher education in Nebraska. Since 1998, EducationQuest has disbursed over $1.1 million in community grants to organizations across the state with programs that enhance college access.

“Programs like Success through Education help us achieve our mission and we’re proud to provide our support,” said EducationQuest President Liz Fieselman.
