Six Guidance Counselors Receive EducationQuest Scholarship

(Lincoln, Nebraska, April 2, 2008) – EducationQuest Foundation has selected six Nebraska high school guidance counselors to receive its 2008 Guidance Counselor Enrichment Scholarship. They are Sara Barker, Falls City High School; Rhonda Collins, Norfolk Senior High School; Jan Frayser, Pius X High School, Lincoln; Mary Janata, West Point-Beemer High School; Barbara Malhiwsky, Omaha South High School; and Becky O'Malley, Yutan High School.

Janata and O'Malley will attend the Great Plains Association for College Admission Counseling Conference April 1-3, 2008 in Overland Park, Kan. Barker and Frayser will attend the National Association for College Admission Counseling Conference September 25-27, 2008 in Seattle, Wash. Collins and Malhiwsky and Collins will attend the Careers Conference in early 2009 in Madison, Wis.

"Nebraska high school guidance counselors play a vital role in helping students transition from high school to college - often with little funding," said EducationQuest President Liz Fieselman. "We're pleased to support their efforts by providing professional development opportunities and much-needed resources through this scholarship."
