Help your students KnowHow2GO to college!
Big dreams and good grades aren’t enough to get into college. That’s why EducationQuest sponsors the KnowHow2GO program in Nebraska. KnowHow2GO promotes four steps 8th, 9th and 10th grade students should follow to make college a reality:
Step 1: Be a pain – in a good way. Ask adults in your life to help guide you to college – and keep asking until you find someone who will.
Step 2: Push yourself. Take the tough courses in high school that will prepare you for college – and get involved in extracurricular activities.
Step 3: Find the right fit. Explore careers that fit your interests and skills – and then research colleges that are a good fit for you!
Step 4: Put your hands on some cash. Money is available to help you pay for college, but you have to apply!
EducationQuest provides several free KnowHow2GO resources to help you guide your students to college. They include:
- KnowHow2GONebraska Partner Playbook – provides tools, resources and ideas you can use to help 8th, 9th and 10th graders make college a reality
- 8th, 9th & 10th Grade section of this website – gives students easy access to information and tools that will help guide them to college
- KnowHow2GO Handbook – College and Career Planning for 8th, 9th and 10th Grade Students – a 28-page publication that guides your students through the four steps of KnowHow2GO. Your school received a supply of this publication for distribution to your students.
- “College Doesn’t Just Happen” video – features two young men who visit their high school five years after graduating and “flash back” to decisions that impacted their ability to go to college.
