Big dreams and good grades aren't enough to get into college. That's why EducationQuest Foundation is proud to sponsor the KnowHow2GONebraska campaign to help your 8th – 10th grade students learn the steps needed to make college a reality.
Department of Education studies show that 8 out of 10 students expect to earn a bachelor's degree – but few know what it takes to fully prepare for college. In response, KnowHow2GO took the extensive to-do list for college planning and created four simple steps that students can follow — with the help of an adult.
The steps are:
- Be a pain – in a good way. Ask an adult to help you with college planning – and keep asking until you find someone who will.
- Push yourself. Take rigorous coursework in high school and get involved in extracurricular activities.
- Find the right fit. Research colleges that match your career interests and skills.
- Get your hands on some cash. Apply for scholarships and financial aid
KnowHow2GO is sponsored nationally by the American Council on Education, Lumina Foundation for Education, and the Ad Council – and in Nebraska by EducationQuest Foundation.
