Ambassador Program
Want to help students KnowHow2GO to college?
Big dreams and good grades are not enough to get into college for many low-income or first-generation students. They need someone to help them along the way – to teach them the steps they need to take to make college a reality. Are you willing to be THAT person – a KnowHow2GONebraska Ambassador?
EducationQuest Foundation is looking for enthusiastic college students to volunteer their time as Ambassadors to help younger students “know how to go to college.” KnowHow2GO helps 8th, 9th and 10th grade students learn the four steps needed to make college a reality.
Step 1: Be a pain – in a good way.
Find an adult to help guide you to college.
Step 2: Push yourself.
Take tough courses and participate in extracurricular activities.
Step 3: Find the right fit.
Find a college that matches your career interests.
Step 4: Put your hands on some cash.
Money is available to help you pay for college, but you have to apply.
As a KnowHow2GONebraska Ambassador, you’ll learn more about the four steps and be trained to lead activities that help 8th, 9th and 10th grade students explore career and college options. Along the way you’ll build leadership and communication skills, add community service activities to your resume, and make a difference in your community.
To be eligible, you must:
• be committed to serving the current academic year
• be in good academic standing
• be a current college student
• have the ability to interact with youth from diverse backgrounds
• conduct oneself in a mature and professional manner
• possess excellent communication skills and enthusiasm
• provide two references and their contact information
• complete an online application and successfully pass a background check
If interested, complete and submit the application below.
